Underground Production Superintendent

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

Provides direction and supervision of mine operations in the areas of safety, production, cost control, efficiency and skill development.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED:

• Coordinates mine plans related to safety, compliance, continuous mining production, maintenance, outby projects, and coal handling.
• Coordinates production and maintenance projects with manpower and supplies for operational activities.
• Leads the implementation, sustainability and monitoring of health and safety programs and promote behavioral based safety process.
• Participates in and supports cost reduction plans and process improvement initiatives.
• Sets expectations for subordinates, manages performance and absenteeism, and conducts appraisal evaluations.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• 5 years coal mining experience
• 5 years supervisory experience
• Knowledge of State and Federal Mining laws
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication, problem solving and safety management skills.
• Mine Foreman Certification
• MSHA miner training certification
