SURVEYOR

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

Provide Surveying Services and AutoCAD / mapping services to underground mining operations

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Operation of total stations in an underground environment.
• Directs and instructs Rod Person engaged in surveying.
• Perform underground surveying including advance of mining sights, check surveys, levels, take-up, construction sights and monthly volumetric calculations.
• Compiles accurate, legible field notes, sketches, and records data obtained from all work performed.
• Ability to process field crew survey data and provide survey adjustments.
• Assist with preparation of maps and other drawings using AutoCAD / Carlson software.
• Obtain underground channel samples (lifting required), as directed by Engineer.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Associates Degree in Surveying a plus, experience may be substituted for degree/education.
• Minimum five years' experience as an underground transitman; longwall experience desired.
• Proficient in performing calculations necessary for all aspects of underground surveying.
• Experience with AutoCAD / Carlson software is highly desired.
• Must have current 80-hour underground miner training.
• EMT Training preferred.
• Strong communication and time management skills
