Reliability Engineer

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for mine site and processing plant predictive and preventive maintenance analysis, providing recommendations to maintenance planners and superintendents to improve overall maintenance functions and equipment availability.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED:
• Performs predictive and preventive data collections and inspections procedures (PdM services) to ensure equipment operating efficiency.
• Analyzes the data collected using appropriate software to determine component condition and expected life.
• Develops and maintains a preventive analysis system that functions on a regular and timely basis.
• Performs certification for both new and reconditioned equipment using predictive maintenance technology.
• Perform root cause analysis to determine underlying cause of problems.
• Makes recommendations to remediate pending equipment or component failures and improve overall equipment reliability.
• Maintains an effective reporting system to document test results, component conditions, and analysis history.
• Effectively communicates the results of the tests and analysis to appropriate personnel. Provides technical expertise during the installation of new components.
• Work with maintenance management to develop maintenance procedures and training programs for employees.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Mining, or Electrical Engineering. Experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the educational requirement, analytical thinking, problem solving, and technical aptitude.
• Safety consciousness.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• 1 - 4 years of experience in the mining industry
• Familiarity with underground, surface, coal preparation, and loadout mining equipment.
• Familiarity with System 1
• Previous experience with a CMMS
