Certified Diesel Mechanic

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

Maintain and repair mobile equipment; schedule and perform preventative maintenance; track warranties; order parts; keep records; etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Actively participate in the company's Behavior Based Safety (STEEL) Process
• Ensure compliance with all environmental, safety, and company laws, regulations and policies
• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to maintenance and repairs on diesel surface and underground mining and support equipment
• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance
• Work with manufacturers' maintenance departments
• Order parts
• Warranty tracking
• Record keeping
• Other duties as assigned

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Proficient in the use of oxygen/acetylene torches and welders
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic prints and troubleshoot mobile equipment
• Formal diesel mechanic training and/or certification (required)
• WV Mining Certification or ability to obtain
• Diesel Mechanic Diploma/Certification from an accredited university, college or school
