Buyer - Underground Mining Complex

JOB LOCATION: Mountain Laurel Complex, Sharples, WV

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

Procurement of supplies and services for all mine site locals.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Negotiate and place individual purchase orders with suppliers of materials and services to best Company advantage considering quality, value analysis, and vendor ability to meet specifications, required delivery, and price

Responsible for obtaining & reviewing all necessary documents for new vendors & providing to appropriate departments

Review all insurance for new service vendors along with reviewing annually for changes

Review and maintain all contracts for service vendors

Contact suppliers and follow vendor performance to expedite urgently needed items as required

Continuous upgrade of knowledge obtaining greater familiarity with purchasing practices, policies, and procedures

Assist Accounting by insuring all service orders have proper backup; review of daily price mismatch report; and review of daily quantity mismatch report

Maintain records for all company vehicles; handle the insurance, registration renewals, licensing, and titles.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 1 - 5 years of professional experience in Purchasing and Materials Management required

B.S. in Business or relevant degree preferred, or equivalent experience

Must be an efficient/effective organizer and team player with the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, and possess a strong analytical ability

Candidate must be a self-starter and capable of working independently

Must be able to plan/handle multiple assignments and work with multiple disciplines and departments across the mine site

General knowledge of mining equipment, parts, and tools is preferred

Advanced PC skills and good knowledge of integrated Materials Management and Financial System, Ellipse experience a plus

Excellent interpersonal skills
